Sportcel created a Brazilian carnival atmosphere with International Beach Soccer, live FIFA World Cup screenings, Samba music and dance, plus South American themed food and drink provided by specialist Brazilian restauranteur Bem Brasil, all built around a purpose built 2,500 seat Beach Soccer stadium. 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil fixtures were shown on two giant 40 sq m screens.
If that wasn’t enough to get the audience excited, then there was also a High Tempo zone, sponsored by Continental Tyres, where football fans could test their sharpshooting skills and increase their heart rate even further.
When the emotion of the World Cup got too much, fans were invited to chill out on the Little Copacabana beach with a caipirinha and catch the action on the second screen.
The event was a huge success, and with over 30,000 people passing through ITV Fever Pitch’s gates, it would appear that everyone in Manchester got in the World Cup spirit, despite England’s early exit!
